Let's Share The Light

To mark the beginning of the United Hearts Foundation in RMD Engineering College, a group of 18 members made their first visit on March 11th,2012 to Nethrodaya, a home for the visually challenged. Having understood the importance of education to uplift their lives, these visually challenged are pursuing their higher studies in literature. Our students helped them in their studying process by explaining them the concepts and making them feel comfortable.

Its really encouraging to see the enthusiasm to learn in these differently abled people. Though, they are not blessed enough to see this world they still want to learn numerous things about this world. Some questions they ask us during the knowledge sharing process makes you contemplate about it.

We have this popular saying, “Seeing is believing” but these people trust everyone around them without seeing them. For them the whole world is dark and it’s our responsibility to bring “Light” into their lives. Nothing in this competitive world can dispel darkness as education does. Keeping all these thoughts in mind, our students helped them to translate the normal study materials they had into a special language of theirs. We divided ourselves into groups and worked for around 3 hours to explain them the concepts. This is first step to show our commitment to our society and in the coming days we are planning to make frequent visits to Nethrodaya.
